On March 23, 2022, the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division (MSESDD) of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region X led by MSESDD Chief, Engr. Rodante B. Felina, spearheaded a training entitled, “Women on Fire: Fire Prevention Training” for MGB-X Employees at the MGB-X grounds. This is in celebration of the Fire Prevention Month, which is celebrated yearly in March along with the National Women’s Month.
A comprehensive yet entertaining lecture was given by Supervising Science Research Specialist and Emergency Response Team (ERT) Commander of MGB-X, Engr. Alvin M. Villanueva. It encompassed basic information about the triangle of fire, fuel classification, and types of Fire Extinguishers. Afterwards, drills of different ways on putting out fire were executed by MGB-X employees.
In the end of the activity, MGB-X employees had a very productive morning and are now equipped for any fire emergency occurrences both in the workplace and at home.
