Disaster risk reduction requires an all-of-society engagement and partnership.  It also requires empowerment and inclusive, accessible, and non-discriminatory participation and a gender, age, disability and cultural perspective in all policies and practices, and the promotion of women and youth leadership as underlined in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.  In line with this, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council-10 conducted an Inter-agency Seminar-Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming in DRRM on June 23 to 24, 2015 held in Iligan City.  It was the aim of the seminar to improve the knowledge of the participants on GAD practices particularly their application to disaster risk reduction and management.  Disaster action officers of the member-agencies of RDRRMC-10 were invited to the said activity.
