Forming part of the country’s strong government workforce, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau X joined the Philippine Civil Service Commission in   commemorating   the 121st Philippine Service Anniversary anchored in the 10-year theme: Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant- Heroes.

Considering restrictions imposed in this COVID 19 pandemic, MGB X participated through hanging of the above CSC streamer at the MGB X Office and the conduct of a Webinar capped “Mental Health and Resiliency in the Midst of Pandemic” on September 29, 2021 highlighting MGB X’s Culmination activity of the 121st Philippine Service Anniversary.

Ms. Jaymee Q. Leonen, Head, Psychosocial Division of the Cagayan de Oro City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) office was the lone speaker who talked with expertise on topics relating to Managing your Stress and Protecting your Mental Health Amidst this Long-standing Pandemic. The presentation encompassed, understanding the context of the COVID 19 pandemic, Depression and Stress in its broader sense including what behaviours we should avoid and the things that an institution can do to promote Mental Health and Well Being in the Office. These may include setting office rituals to send a message of unity, care and one-ness; Creating caring communities within the office like group chats and buddy systems, and a structure that is safe, with adequate time and space to be able to connect with one another outside work to promote individual growth.

MGB OIC Regional Director Felizardo A. Gacad, Jr., in his early message gave his concept on Mental Health involving isolation and attachment to God, and also emphasized that normalcy is not just doing the things that we used to do, but doing things that we used to do for the better.
