In consonance to the Civil Service Commission Resolution no. 200481 promulgated on March 11, 2020 and in compliance to the latest instruction of the DENR Secretary, Roy A. Cimatu, on alternative working arrangements to ensure safety of personnel against the present threat of COVID 19 worldwide, the “work-from-home” scheme has been adopted by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau.
On March 24, 2020, in compliance to the instruction of DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimato, Mines and Geosciences Bureau X Regional Director Efren B. Carido issued a Memorandum Circular mandating for the Adoption of Alternative Working Arrangements to Ensure Safety of Personnel and to the Continued Delivery of Essential Services under COVID 19 Threat Situation.
Relative to this, MGB X Regional Director signed Regional Special Order No. 061 creating an Emergency Operations Team (EOT) to provide assistance in the event that there might be severely affected MGB X regular and contractual employees with COVID 19 Virus during the Community Quarantine and Health Emergency period. EOT is composed of 14 MGB X Personnel headed by Engr. Rodante B. Felina, Chief of the Mine Safety Environment and Social Development Division (MSESDD) as the Team Leader. Personnel on their part, should inform the EOT on their health status for regular monitoring.
Other safety measures include the daily disinfection of the office facilities, surroundings and vehicles. The MGB X employees were also afforded with Vitamin C to sustain the required daily dose of 500 mg daily to boost the immune system against virus infection, hand sanitizers and rubbing alcohol for sanitation. For the skeletal workforce, MGB X assigned drivers and vehicles for conveyance from their respective homes to the Office and vice versa instead of taking public transport.
Those who will be assigned to report in the Office under alternative working arrangements are those in charge in the preparation of salaries, wages and other benefits. A record officer is also assigned to report, a driver and utility worker on a rotation basis.
Technical Division Chiefs or Section Chiefs shall act on emergency situation who may either work at home or in office as the situation warrants and still on rotation basis, except those who are considered highly vulnerable to COVID-19 virus.
MGB X embedded personnel are advised to follow the working arrangements implemented by the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Officer where they are presently assigned.
