It may be recalled that in 2012, MGB –X filed a case against Yellow Stone Mining and Development Corporation for illegal exploration.

Last May 2018, the presiding judge, Hon. Marites Filomena B. Rana-Bernales ordered Yellow Stone Corporation to pay the fine of Php 50, 000.00 and to spend P200, 000.00 for

environmental reparation in the area in the form of a tree planting activity at Brgy. Bagocboc, Opol. More than 100 persons participated in the court ordered activity where a total of 1,000 bamboo plantlets were prepared to be planted.

To spread environmental awareness, a short program featuring some lectures on proper tree-growing, the dangers of illegal mining and how the vigilance of the people in the area can help curb the problem were also conducted prior to the undertaking for the benefit of the local community.
